Reflecting on 2020: Sowing the Seeds of a Wellness Comeback

“The greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it.” ― Molière

“Don't give up - it's not over! The universe is balanced. Every setback bears with it the seeds of a comeback.” ― Steve Maraboli

From Moliere to Maraboli, mankind has always mused on life’s challenges and how to face them. And 2020 certainly seems to have handed out more than its fair share.
However, challenge doesn’t have to equal defeat, nor does it have to define this year or any other. Often what emerges from challenge is our best self – whether shown by a degree of courage or perseverance we never thought possible, or simply noticing the beauty of a winter sunset or dewdrop on a flower when you might not have before.
It’s about our willingness to adapt, to change, to bend to what’s needed to survive and thrive without breaking, to see the possibility rather than the peril. Basically, it’s about minding our own wellbeing – relying on it, leaning on it when we need it. And that means we have to tend to it when things are going along swimmingly – so it’s there in reserve when the need arises.

Maintaining wellbeing has always been at the core of what Kerstin Florian does. Starting with living by and spreading the message of the four cornerstones of wellness: proper nutrition, regular exercise, peace of mind, and care of the face and body.
These simple principles leave our bodies and minds better equipped to meet the challenges of life, to react and recover in equal measure, and to move on to the next challenge or success with equal aplomb. To cultivate the seeds of comeback these practices continually sow, and to feel the glory of overcoming.
So let’s choose to reflect on 2020 as a challenge we accepted, rose to, and overcame. To remember the good instead of the bad – like the extra family dinners it prompted; new skills we chose – or had! – to learn; teaching grandparents to zoom; bonding time with our pets; and above all giving people’s wellbeing, including our own, the priority it deserves. If we keep sowing the seeds of wellness in ourselves and our communities,  we can indeed emerge from any challenge as our best selves!
Wishing you wellness for 2021 and always,

The Kerstin Florian International Team
